As can be noted we have re-located the park development in accardance with the original park plans. As there has been 5orte confusion centering around the status of Silver Vie;a Park, I have prepared the following background data to clarify the many issues involved. 7. The City of Mounds View currently holds fee sirrple title to 16.6 acres • of park land at the intersection of County Road H-2 and Silver Lake RoaQ. . 2. The original grant for additianal acquisition of park land for Silver View Park was submitted by the City af h;ounds View in August of 1976. . Mr. Dougtas Bryant was the Director of the Parks and Recreatfon Department - - at that time and the grant was originally approved at 5150,000 for funding �: in 1977. This grant application was for the acquisition of approximatety 79 acres of land directly north of the city's existing park land. 3. The original grant was not processed properly in 1977 which made for a two year delay in receiving the final acquisition's approval which was finally granted to the City on June 25, 1979. 4. Mr. Doug Bryant resigned his position with the City in August, 1977 and I was then appointed as the Director of Parks and Retreation in Noverrber, 1977. � 5. In July, 1978 I submitted a grant application for the Phase 1 development of Silver View Park based on the acquisition of land north of city's existing land.
