We were informed by your office to not begin formal n=gotiations for the
land acquisition until the agreerr, ents were finalized which was June 25,
1979.
"T
8. Since that time City staff has met with Kraus-Anderson owners of the
land in question and they submitted a counter proposat to the City
which would involve a land "swap" of the City's existing land for land
on the northwest corner of Sitver Lake Road and County Raad I.
9. Staff concurs with Kraus-Anderson that tnis proposed 1and sap wouid benefit
both parties and we have continued to exp7ore that possibility.
10. As of 8/13/79, the Lity has not consumated any land sale and the park is
still being proposed in its original 7ocation. City Staff is meeting with
Kraus-Anderson on Tuesday, August 14 to continue our negotrations.
11. The existin concerns center around the t"
9 proposed grant application Phase Z
development of Silver View Park in 7980 which includes:
a. Tennis Courts
b. Concession buildin9
c. General landscaping
Staff proposed tle 1980 Phase 2 grant application in the new location wbich
as of 8/13/79has not been finalized.
In conclusion PAounds View's position as to th_ location of Sitver View Park is as
fotlows:
7. We believe that the proposed site of County Road I and Sitver Lake Road aould
be a more ideal location for the fol7owing reasons:
a. Access to the site of tounty Road I is more conducivz than Silver Lake
Raad because of traffic volume.
b. Minimal grading viould be necessary in the County Road I site as
compared to extensive grading and filt on H-2.
c. The land has been appraised at a lower value on County Road I.
d. The developer would benefit from the property on County Road H-2
because of:
l. Existing terrain .
2. Soil types .
3. Tree stand
