- E�ery oxrlinance and zesolution adopted by the wters of the city shall take effect <br />Lrtrediately upon its adoption or at such later date as it speciries. <br />Sec. 3•10. lvrendment and Repeal of Onl]r�ances and Resolutions. Subdivision 1. <br />An ox[ilnance or resolution which repeals all or part of a pxevious oxdinance or <br />resolution shall �.ve the nwnber, if az�y, and the title of the osdlnance or reso- <br />lution to be repealed in whole or Sn part. No ordinance or resolution sha11 be <br />amended by reference to the title alone, but an ordinance or resciution which amends <br />such ordinance or resolution shall set forth in fLll each section or sub-division to <br />be amended and shall indtcate by appmpriate type or symbols matter to be omitted <br />or added. Amendment or repeal of an ordinance shall require a 4/5 wte of the crnmcil. <br />M�y proposed oxdinance or resolution which conflicts with or changes the intent or <br />xequirertents of an existing ordinance or resolution shall be considered an amendrtent <br />of an oxdinance or resolutlon and, therefore, shall be subject to this section. <br />Subd. 2. M ordinance passed under the initiativz or referend�un power shall not <br />be repealed or amended by the co�mcil except by appxoval of the wters. <br />Sec. 3•11. Revlsion and Codification of Ordinances and Indexing of I�solutiona. <br />'lfie city shall revlse, rearraz�ge, and codify ita ordinances and index its xesolutions <br />with such additions and deletions as rtny be deemed necessary at least once every two <br />years. The ox+dinance code and resoluti� Sndex may be published in book, pam�hlet, <br />or looae-leaf form, end copies shall be made availabie by the council at the office <br />of the clty clerk for general dlstributlon to the public for a reasonable charge. <br />Ir.corporation in such a code shall be a sufricient publlcation of aqy oxdinance pro- <br />vision rwt pxeviously publiahed, Sf a notice is placed in the ofriciai newapaper ;or <br />at leaet two auccessive weeks that copies of the codirication axe available at the <br />offlce of the city clerk. <br />-7- <br />
