As you're aware the youth of Mounds View are being served by a number of athletic associ- ates ranging from Lake Region Hockey to the Mounds View Footbalt Association. At this point tn ttire there is no coordination between the different sports as far as season length, practice dates, times or length, prices, rules, coaching crlteria, orientation sessions, rule interpretation clinics. The list ts endless and would not be the intent of this task force to address each of these issues. The task force would initially focus in on the youth athiet5c programs our department dlrectly coordlnates such as: 1. T-Balt 2. &Ba11 3. Youth S�ftball 4. Flag Football 5. Swimming instruction 6. Tennis 1. Soccer 8. Girls Baskettatl 9. Ice Skating instruction Once we formrllu our own department's program efforts from both a philosoph- 1oa1 and workl��g sWndpoint we would begin to branch out tnto the following eroas: i. Developing a certificaticn program for youth coaches. 2. firylementing and coordinating a coaches clinic and training session Ior alt youth sports coaches involving philosophy, first aid, social qynemlcs of youth sports, rule interpretattons, etc. 3. EstabllsMng a"Presidents Ca�ciP' wi-th representatives from each of the athletic associations to meet yuarterly to discuss common proble�, season overlaps, faN H ty usege, e*c.
