Director DATE: Noveirber 29, 1979 RE: Portable warming house buildings Mr. Russ Born, a representative from Satellite Industries contacted our office today regarding the use of chemical toilet facilities in our City parks. As Dart of his sales presentation he mentioned a new pilot program which Sateltite Industries has just begun marketing. The item is the construction of portable winter warming houses. The warming houses come in 3 sizes: 8' x 10' - 1 heater - 3 storm windows, 1 door -$2>695. 8' x 20' - 2 heaters - 4 storm windows, 1 door -$3,330. 8' x 32' - 3 heaters - 6 storm windows. 2 doors -$5,795. In addition each of the buildings comes standard with the folloraing package: 1. 3/4" plywood on floor and 3/8" plywoad on walls. 2. Butlt in benches. 3. Heavy duty door with panic bar. 4. De-mountable trailer hitch. 5. Alumir�rn siding on exterior. 6. R-11 ineutation in the walls with R-14 in the floor and ceiling. 7. All htaL is electric with 4.8 killowatt heaters (additional heaters cost $135.00. In addition to the above they can be equipped with separate bathroom facilities at a cost of approximately $500.00 plus $150.00 for an extra door. As I mentioned this is a pilot program and we would be the first customer W purchase a unit but from � initial conversation with Satellite it appears that thls coocept m�y have some practical usage for Groveland Park on an imrediate use afth more extensive use for other park sites. Funding vrould have to come from the City Contingency account witA City Council approval needed at the December 10 meeting.
