�EMD 70: Mounds View Parks and Recreation Comnission FROM: Staff UATE: March 25, 1980 RE: Silver View Park Update Attached is a copy of the ma� ;hat has been agreed upon in concept by both the Planning Commission and City Council at their recent meetings. In addition t have enclosed the minutes from the City Planning Commission which cutlines in detail the proceedings of their meeting. It appears at this time that the general framework for a land swap, grant or park dedication is now reaching the preliminary concept stage. It should be noted that the planning review we have been through during the past four weeks was strictly a preliminary concept approval for Yhe proposed zoning and land uses as presented. The next phase of the process is to interview and hire a consultant to do the preliminary design and construction documents for the park property. Staff would once again encourage and solicit the Coimiissions involvement in this process and recommend the following process: I. Staff would preliminary screen five to seven planning consultants and firms whom they feel are capable of performina the projects as outlined. Suggested firms might be: �. Inter-Design b. Saunders and Thalden c. Brauer and AssocSates d. Bather, Ringwood and Rose e. Derrick Graw and Associates f. Developmental Concepts g. Tim ErkAlle and Associates Co�ryleted Dy April 1S, I980 2. Staff would submit a staff report recommending three firms that would be formally interviewed by the Parks and Recreation Comnission. Completed by April 24, 19&3 3. The Parks and Recreation Comnission would then request proposals from the firms of their choice. Lo�leted by April 2,, 1980 4. Parks and Recreation Commission vrould make a recomnendation to the City Couneil for their review. Co�leted by AprSl 24. 1980 5. City Council enters into a contract with a planner.
