.Parks and Recreation Cov¢nission Minutes
2/26/81 Page 6
Commissioner Linke responded that he felt the
majority of the voters didn't have any problem
with the plan bu[ didn't approve the money financint
portion.
Planning Comnissioner Loeding felt that the vote
definitely reflected a vot on the park plan rather
than just the money.
A general discussion then followgd between the
two Commissions regarding the referendum and
what the vote actually indicated. There was no
general consensus between the two Commissions.
The Parks and Recreation Commission discussed
reasons as to why the referendum may have failed;
Coffinissioner Scott stated that the School
Referendvm had an input, Conunissioner Silvis
stated that being with the general election didn't
help it.
Planning Coissioner Glazer than asked how the
plan could be implemented should a referendum not
be successful again.
Chairperson Burmeister responded that it could be
fimded through L.A.W.C.O.N. and general funds but
it would take a long period of time.
Planning Cocmissioner Loeding then asked whether
the Parks and Recreation Coimnisaion would be in
favor of having a referendum to determine whether -
or not the plan itself was acceptable to the
voters.
