Parks and Recreation Co�mnission Minutes Page 5 <br />L%Lb%C1 <br />It was the general consensus of the Park Cort¢nissic <br />that this issue be tabled for further review at <br />the next regularly scheduled meeting. <br />WINTER PROGRAM UPDATE Staff briefly reviewed the report that was sub- <br />mitted to the Commission highlighting the winter <br />swimning and skating program. <br />SPRING RECREATION Staff distributed copies of the March/April news- <br />PROGRAMS letter for general review. Program highlights <br />that were discussed include: <br />1. Program of the Month - I DO! I DO! <br />Chanhassen Dinner Theater <br />2. Ping Pong Tournament <br />3. Gadabouts <br />4. Swimming Instruction <br />SILVER VIEW PARK Staff stated that they had been meeting with <br />UPDATE Gary Tushie, Associate Planner, Saunders-Thalden <br />and Associates regarding the initial blob studies <br />and that an initial concept plan would be pre- <br />pared for the Coa�ission at their next meeting. <br />SPECIAL MEETIN� Staff introduced the Planning Co�ission Chair- <br />WITH PLANNING person Peg Mountin who then provided the backgroun� � <br />COMMISSION <br />as to the need for a joint Planning Park and <br />Recreation Commission Meeting. Ms. Mountin dis- <br />cussed the 1976 Land Planning Act which mandates <br />each municipality to develop a City Wide Comprehen� <br />sive °�an including a Park and Recreation Chapter. . <br />Ms. Mountin then outlined some of the Planning <br />Cortanission members concerns about adopting the <br />park plan because the November 4, 1981 referendum <br />had failed. <br />
