Parks and Recreation Canmission Minutes July 22, 1982 Page two � SUM4ER PROGRAM UPDATE: Staff distributed youth league schedules and program flyers which outline the progress of our sumner program to date. We have continued to experience growth in all of our youth athletic and sumner recreation programs. Staff stated that we had had an extremely successful suirmer to date and look forward to the concluding weeks. PARK SNELTER BUILDING POLICY: Staff distributed a copy of Resolution No. 1001 which was a rough draft of the Park Comnissioners comments fran the regularly scheduled April meeting. The Co�nission reviewed the park shelter policy and recommend- ed adoption of the resolution as corrected. A motion was made by Cortmissioner Bowman, seconded by Comnissioner Weflen to recommend that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 7007 outlining the current park shelter building status. LITY CODE UPUA7E: Staff distributed final copies of Chapters 34, 51. 52 and 92 which had been formally adopted by the City Council. Staff indicated that the ordinance had been adopted as re- canmended by the Parks and Recreation Commfssion with the exception of not allowing aicoholic bevera9es in the city park system at all. LAKESIDE PARK UPDATE: Commissioner 8aw`nan provStled a trief overvi�x c` the current status of the Lakeshde Park Comnission and stated that the beach operations were running relatively smoothly. She indicated that Cindy Johnson had been retained as waterfront director once again and that a new boat had been purchased ?s budgeted. The major project the Lakeside Park Commissicr� had undertaken was adoptin9 beach park regulations which were drafted after a great deal of discussion. •� CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS: Staff distributed a copy of the proposed five year capitat BUUGET improvements plan for park projects which have been submitted to the Clerk/Administrator and City Finance Director. The Park Comnission reviewed the proposed improvements and felt they were in line with previous recommendations. Motion was made by Chairperson Burmeister, seconded by Commissioner Weflin to recommend to the City Council that they adopt the capital improvement budget as presented by staff.
