• I <br /> MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> • <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> September 23 , 1982 <br /> Mounds View City Hall <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 6 :30 p.m. <br /> CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chairperson <br /> Wayne Burmeister at 6 : 36 p .m. <br /> ROLL CALL: Commissioners present - Chairperson Burmeister, <br /> Commissioners Bowman, Dennehy, Silvis , Weflin <br /> and Wermager. <br /> Commissioners absent - Commissioner Letendre <br /> Councilmember absent - Councilmember Doty had <br /> an excused absence due to family vacation. <br /> Staff present - Parks and Recreation Director <br /> Anderson and Program Supervisor Saarion <br /> Vistors present - Mayor McCarty, Marilyn Eibs of <br /> Abiding Savior Church, Schmitt and Gary Quick of <br /> the Groveland Park Foundation. <br /> • APPROVAL OF MINUTES : A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis , seconded <br /> by Commissioner Wermager to approve the August 26 , <br /> 1982 Park and Recreation Commission meeting minutes <br /> as presented by staff. Motion was passed unanimously. <br /> 6 ayes <br /> 0 nayes <br /> CHAIRMAN' S REPORT: There was no Chairman ' s report. Chairperson <br /> Burmeister indicated that he had no report at this <br /> time. <br /> COUNCILMEMBER' S REPORT: Councilmember Doty was not in attendance due to an <br /> excused absence so no report was provided. It should <br /> be noted at this time that Mayor McCarty did attend <br /> the meeting in the absence of Councilman Doty. <br /> REVIEW OF RED OAK <br /> PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT : Staff presented a report which outlined the current <br /> status of the playground equipment at Red Oak Ele- <br /> mentary School and requested direction from the <br /> Commission as to the future relocation of the equip- <br /> ment. The equipment had been requested by a number <br /> of agencies including the City of Mounds View Parks <br /> and Recreation Commission, Abiding Savior Lutheran <br /> 411 Church and the Lakeside Park Commission. Following <br /> a great deal of discussion regarding the most log- <br /> ical and fair way to distribute the requested <br /> equipment, a motion was made by Chairperson Burmeister, <br /> seconded by Commissioner Bowman directing staff to <br /> retain ownership for the City of Mounds View of the <br />
