April 2d, 1983 <br />Park and Rec. Comm. Minutes <br />Pa�_ m.::� <br />Commission recommended that tlte neiyhborhood <br />residents be contacted to solicit their input <br />on the creative play area plans. To that end, <br />a Icc Crcam Social was set for Sun�ay, May 22, <br />1983, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Lambert <br />Park shelter buildiny. <br />i' <br />A motion was then made by Chairperson B�rmeister, <br />seconded by Commissioner Silvis, to pursue the <br />development plans at Lambert Park pending <br />neighborhood approval. The motion passed <br />unanimously. 7 ayes 0 nays <br />Staff then presented a brief update on the <br />possibility oE developing Random Pazk also, <br />with the same dollars from Revenue Sharing <br />through similar construction, i.e., community <br />involvement and using Consultant Paul Hogan <br />in the construction phase. <br />A motion was then m�de by Commissioner Silvis, <br />seconded by Commissioner Long, to approve, in <br />concept, �he Random Park creative play area <br />plan, aqain, pending approval from the Random <br />Park neighborhood. The motion passed unanimously. <br />7 ayes 0 nays <br />SILVER VIEW PARI( Staff indicated that the Silvex' View Park had <br />IMPROVEMENT I7PDATE been completed in its entirety, with the out- <br />field fences being constructed during the <br />coming week. Staff indicated that adult soft- <br />ball games had been scheduled for the 1983 <br />season and we envisioned a full season of play <br />of not only local tournaments but also league <br />and community field rentals. Staff further <br />indicated that a complete update of the Silver <br />View Park improvements, including costs, would <br />be provided to the Commission for their review <br />at the May Park Commission meeting. Staff <br />further indicated that we had been in contaCt <br />with the DNR in that they would be stocking the <br />area with sunfish and crappies from Pleasant <br />Lake in North Oaks during the coming weeks. <br />The Commission questioned whether or not a <br />youth fishing contest could be established at <br />Silver View Park and staff indicated that we <br />would like to have at least one year of <br />expericncc regarding how many people fish the <br />pond, how many fish there are, etc., before we , <br />get into a possible fishing contest.
