To that end, Commissioner Bowman <br />addressed the Commission and requeaT,er] greater <br />input from each of the individual Commissioners <br />in the planning process in all areas of park <br />development. The Commission once again revieWed <br />their plans for the Ice Cream Social at Lambert <br />Park and determined that a subcommittee consisting <br />of Park and Recreation Director Anderson and <br />Parlc Commissioncr IIowman would work out the final <br />details for the Sunday afternoon Social. <br />RAMSEY COUNTY LGI�P Staff rcyi^wed a memorandum fzom Brian G <br />COMPOSTING PROPOSAL of the Ramsey Cc:;nty Public Health Depaitment, <br />Gnvironmental llcalch Division, which recommended <br />Mounds View as one of tne four major leaf <br />compostiny sites in Ramsey County. Staff <br />indicated that they supported the concept of <br />leaf composting and stated that it was staff's <br />position that the Parks and Recreation Department <br />should become involved in leaf composting as <br />preservation of the environment and the natural <br />resources was as integral a part of our depart- <br />ment as park development, planning, and maintenance. <br />Staff provided figures showing that approximately . <br />108 of our solid waste problems within Ramsey <br />County was comprised of grass clippings and leaf <br />collection. <br />Staff felt that there was three possible loca- <br />tions for the leaf composting program: <br />Arden Park <br />Greenfield Park <br />Silvcr View Park <br />After some discussion Commissioner Bowman <br />recommended using the Moga property as a possible <br />site location. Staff concurred that this was an <br />ideal location an� would recommend this site to <br />Ramsey County as our No. 1 alternative. <br />
