Staff indicated <br />that it might be more appropriate to meet with <br />the City Council prior to a regularly scheduled <br />Commission meetiny during thc summer months. <br />The Commission directed staff to arrange for a <br />convenient date and report back to the Commir,sion. <br />GROVELAND PARK Staff indicated that the Groveland Park Founda- <br />PLANNZNG COUNCIL tion was reyuestiny to install some site amenities <br />at Grovcland :ark. Specific requests included <br />bench and planter axca around the volleyball <br />court, park signs, and picnic grills. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis, <br />seconded by Commissioner Bowman, to authorize `� <br />the Groveland Park Foundation to install benches <br />and planters around the volleyball area, park <br />signs, and grills. The motion passed unanimously. <br />7 ayes 0 nays <br />SUMMER RECREATION Staff distributed summer recreation brochures <br />PROGRAM REVIEW and reviewed new program offerings for 1983. <br />Staff indicated that the major new pro�ram for <br />1963 would be offering the summer playground sites <br />at the playground shelter buildings rather than <br />school facilitics. In addition, new structured <br />classes for elementary school students, such as, <br />pott�ry, woodworking, and arts & crafts would be <br />offered in conjunction with the School District's <br />summer school program. Staff also indicated that <br />summer reyistration had been extremely good-�in <br />that the adult softball and youth baseball league <br />registrations were extremely high. <br />ADJOORNMENT A motion was made by Commissioner Wermager, <br />seconded by Commissioner Silvis, to adjourn the <br />meeting.
