MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIF:W <br />COUNTY OF 12AMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />September 1, 1983 <br />Mounds View City Hall <br />Council Chambers <br />6:30 p.m. <br />CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by <br />Chairperson Wayne Rurmeister wi[h a kour of the <br />new park development within the City's system. <br />The City park tour lasted approximately 1-1/2 <br />hours and included Mounds View City <br />Councilmembers Doty, Blanchard and Mayor MeCarty <br />as well as [he Park Commission. Parks involved <br />in the tour included Silver View, Sunny Square <br />in New Briyhton, Lambert, Hillview and Groveland <br />Parks. Following the annual park tour, <br />Chairperson Burmeister called the formal Park <br />and Recreation Commission meeting to order a[ <br />B:OSp.m. <br />ROLL CALL Commissioners presen[: Chairpecson Burmeistei, <br />Commissioners Silvis, Weflen, Letendre, <br />Wecmager, and Bowman, <br />Commissioners absent: Commissioner Long <br />Councilmembers present: Councilmember poty <br />Staff present: Park and Recreation Director <br />Anderson, Aqua[ics Director Maureen Thielen <br />APPROVAL OF THE A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis, <br />MINUTES secontled by Commissioner Weflen to approve the <br />June 23, 1983 Park and Recreation Commission <br />minutes as mailed, The motion passed <br />unanimously. 6 ayes, 0 nayes <br />'' �'���.RSON'S Chair.Evi�sun euu��c,.:,:..:. uaJ no Eormal repurt at <br />REFUitT [his time. <br />COUNCILMEMeER'S Councilmember poty outlined the 1984 capital <br />REPORT improvement prioritization process that had <br />occurred during the past month. There were four <br />park projects in the top ten budget priorities <br />including the establishment of a park project <br />fund, mower tractor, development of Random tot <br />lot and hockey rink fencing. <br />A great deal of discussion Eollowed <br />Councilmember poty's report with Commissioner <br />Silvis indicating [hat he would like to see the <br />City Council adopt a special levy Eor park <br />maintenance [o insuce that the parks ere <br />developed antl maintained in future yeare, <br />Commissioner Wermager urged the City <br />
