The property is well maintained,but needs to be updated and upgraded. We expect to complete this upgrading by mid-2001. We are extensively marketing/promoting the Moundsview Inn. As part of this,we respectfully request that the City of Moundsveiw consider participating in the Metro North Convention and Visitors Bureau(CVB). The mission of the CVB is"to promote economic growth for its members as a preferred destination for events,meetings, and tourism." The CVB currently represents the cities of Anoka,Blaine,Brooklyn Center, • Brooklyn Park, Coon Rapids,Fridley,Maple Grove,and Shoreview. Funding for the CVB's operation is derived from a 3%lodging tax assessed by hotels and motels on rented rooms in the CVB's service area.The administration of the CVB is by a Board whose members represent the member cities, area businesses, and hoteliers. The management of the CVB is performed by a director and staff who promote tourism and convention/conference business within the represented cities.
