Transportation • 1. Maintain and reconstruct streets as necessary and consistent with the City's streets policy. 2. Work with Ramsey County to develop a plan for the future reconstruction of Highway 10. 3. Work with the Metropolitan Council Transit Organization to improve transit service in Mounds View. 4. Encourage the use of transit and travel demand management techniques within the community. 5. Implement the City's trailways plan. 6. Support compliance with the Settlement Agreement and Mutual Release entered into on May 15, 2000, by and between the City of Mounds View, Metropolitan Airports Commission, and Metropolitan Council that limits the runway length of the north-south runway to its current length of 4855 feet and prohibits the installation or operation of an Instrument Landing System or Microwave Landing System on the north-south runway. Support continued classification by the Minnesota Legislature of the Anoka County-Blaine Airport as a "minor use airport" and oppose any proposals to expand the definition or characteristics of a "minor use airport", including but not limited to runway length, of minor use airports. Economic Development: 1. Update and implement the City's Economic Development Plan. P P Y p Intergovernmental Coordination: 1. Continue to work with other governmental agencies and private companies to more efficiently and cost effectively provide desired city services. 2. Continue to participate in the North Metro I-35W Corridor Coalition. Other: 1. Annually assess progress in implementing the comprehensive plan and to identify any issues that may require plan amendments. 2. Formally review the comprehensive plan every five years to ensure that it remains current. 3. Develop more effective methods of communicating with Mounds View residents and businesses. • Page 16
