Transportation <br /> • 1. Maintain and reconstruct streets as necessary and consistent with the City's streets policy. <br /> 2. Work with Ramsey County to develop a plan for the future reconstruction of Highway 10. <br /> 3. Work with the Metropolitan Council Transit Organization to improve transit service in <br /> Mounds View. <br /> 4. Encourage the use of transit and travel demand management techniques within the community. <br /> 5. Implement the City's trailways plan. <br /> 6. Support compliance with the Settlement Agreement and Mutual Release entered into on May <br /> 15, 2000, by and between the City of Mounds View, Metropolitan Airports Commission, and <br /> Metropolitan Council that limits the runway length of the north-south runway to its current <br /> length of 4855 feet and prohibits the installation or operation of an Instrument Landing System <br /> or Microwave Landing System on the north-south runway. Support continued classification by <br /> the Minnesota Legislature of the Anoka County-Blaine Airport as a "minor use airport" and <br /> oppose any proposals to expand the definition or characteristics of a "minor use airport", <br /> including but not limited to runway length, of minor use airports. <br /> Economic Development: <br /> 1. Update and implement the City's Economic Development Plan. <br /> P P Y p <br /> Intergovernmental Coordination: <br /> 1. Continue to work with other governmental agencies and private companies to more efficiently <br /> and cost effectively provide desired city services. <br /> 2. Continue to participate in the North Metro I-35W Corridor Coalition. <br /> Other: <br /> 1. Annually assess progress in implementing the comprehensive plan and to identify any issues <br /> that may require plan amendments. <br /> 2. Formally review the comprehensive plan every five years to ensure that it remains current. <br /> 3.
