Demographics III The first census taken in Mounds View was in 1960. Mounds View's population has grown from 6413 in 1960 to 12,738 in 2000. The Metropolitan Council estimates that Mounds View's population will decrease slightly to 12,200 in 2010 and 2020. This estimate is based upon a number of assumptions, the most important of which is the declining rate of persons per household. The median age of the population has increased from 20.9 in 1970 to 33.5 in 2000. Estimates indicate the median age of Mounds View's population will continue to increase. According to Ramsey County, Mounds View ranked twelfth out of the sixteen communities in the county in median household income at $37,717. St. Paul, Lauderdale, Falcon Heights, and Little Canada had a lower median household income than Mounds View. North Oaks, as one would imagine, topped the list at $114,470. Mounds View residents have a high rate of high school graduation but a low rate of college graduation in comparison to other communities in Ramsey County.
