1/12/04 <br /> • MINNEAPOLIS METRO NORTH CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU <br /> EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR <br /> OVERSIGHT <br /> The Bureau Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and President of the Bureau have <br /> oversight of the Executive Director of the Minneapolis Metro North Convention and Visitors <br /> Bureau (CVB). The following cities in the Twin Cities metropolitan area are represented in <br /> the CVB: Anoka, Blaine, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Coon Rapids, Fridley, Ham <br /> Lake, Maple Grove, Mounds View, and Shoreview. The Bureau's partners include <br /> conference centers, the National Sports Center, and 36 hotel/motel properties with over 3,000 <br /> rooms. <br /> POSITION SUMMARY <br /> The CVB Executive Director is responsible for administration, operating or day-to-day <br /> management, and sales and marketing functions of the Bureau. This person reports to the <br /> Board of Directors and its officers on performance and policy implementation. The role of <br /> 4111 the Executive Director is that of leader in member communications, financial management, <br /> and sales and marketing activity within the Bureau. The Executive Director shall develop <br /> and maintain good working relationships within the hospitality industry. This position is <br /> responsible for the overall performance of the Bureau. <br /> PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> 1. Financial management of Bureau operating and marketing budgets, asset <br /> management, and revenues/expenses. This includes developing budgets, day-to-day <br /> financial decisions, and fiduciary responsibility for Bureau expenses. The Bureau <br /> projects revenues to exceed $1.2 million in 2004. <br /> 2. Primary spokesperson for the Bureau that is responsible for communications with the <br /> Board of Directors, member cities, and the public. <br /> 3. Prepare monthly reports that highlight Bureau activity and performance for the Board <br /> of Directors. The Board of Directors includes 23 representatives from the member <br /> cities, chambers, and properties. <br /> 4. Manage Bureau departments for peak performance including: tourism, meeting and <br /> convention, and sports. <br /> 5. Develop and maintain good working relationships with Minnesota Amateur Sports <br /> Commission(MASC), the National Sports Center, and other venues in member cities. <br /> 6. Responsible for personnel and administration of human resources of Bureau staff. <br /> All terminations and hiring are subject to approval by the Bureau officers/President. <br /> • 7. Oversee Bureau services that are outsourced: advertising agency, web site, accounting <br /> and payroll, and other operational functions. <br />
