•
Redevelopment efforts in Mounds View have shifted to land assembly projects. In 2006, the
Mounds View Economic Development Authority (EDA) purchased the property at 2390 County
Road 10(pictured below). The City had the blighted convenience store/gas station and car wash that
was on the site demolished. Mounds View would prefer that a developer"bundle"this property with
adjacent properties to maximize the highest and best use of the area.
Former Convenience Store,July 2006 Former Car Wash,July 2006
• LAND FOR DEVELOPMENT
763 7 t4 9
June 2008
Redevelopment Policies
• Develop a long-range plan for addressing potential redevelopment areas in Mounds View to
sustain the economic strength of the city.
• In mixed-use,retail and residential redevelopment areas, the city should incorporate livable
communities concepts, sustainable design, quality urban design and streetscape elements.
• Due to the added complexities of redevelopment, evaluate and adjust, if necessary,
ordinances to expedite the ease of redevelopment of targeted areas.
• Mounds View will consider the redevelopment or expansion of an existing business, new
commercial or industrial development, or residential housing even if it involves the
acquisition, demolition or relocation of an existing business or residential properties.
•
