Items 8A-8F November 21,2008 EDC Meeting Page 4 of 4 1111 Item 8G — Dealsmart to Occupy Former Petters Space Dealsmart has signed a lease to locate within the former Petters space in Mounds View Square. It may be a month before Dealsmart opens, however a definite date has not been determined. Mounds View Square's property owner, Paster Enterprises, told City staff that Dealsmart will carry "general merchandise". Dealsmart's tagline is "Smart Deals on Famous Brands with Extreme Values". Item 8H — Recap of C.G. Hill & Sons Tour On October 13, 2008, Mayor Marty proclaimed October 20-24, 2008 as Manufacturer's Week in Mounds View. Mounds View's celebrated Manufacturer's Week by coordinating a tour with Tim Hill of C.G. Hill & Sons on October 22, 2008. The tour was a way to draw public awareness of the importance of manufacturing to Mounds View's economy. During the tour, Tim Hill received a Certificate of Commendation from Governor Pawlenty's office. City staff invited the City Council, Economic Development Commission, Planning Commission, Mounds View manufacturers, the Twin Cities North Chamber's Economic Advancement Committee and representatives from the Sun Focus and Bulletin to attend the event.
