Based on the survey results and <br /> Risdall's extensive research, Risdall will present the EDA/Council and EDC with <br /> Mounds View's brand strategy. If accepted, another joint work session will be <br /> scheduled for February 2, 2006 when Risdall will present a new logo for the City <br /> of Mounds View based on all of the above. <br /> Item 8D — Select Senior Living <br /> The City Council approved the Select Senior Living project on October 27, 2008. <br /> Select Senior Living is a 95-unit senior housing redevelopment project to be <br /> located on the northwest corner of Highway 10 and Groveland Road. This facility <br /> will offer independent living, assisted living and memory care options with <br /> underground parking, three daily meals, 24-hour "on call" RN/staff, weekly <br /> housekeeping and social programs and events. <br /> The developer still hopes to break ground this year. Construction will take about <br /> ten months. <br /> Item 8E — Mermaid Corner <br /> The City Council approved the "Mermaid Corner" subdivision (County Road 10 <br /> and County Road H) on September 22, 2008. The 1.4-acre subdivision was the <br /> first step in allowing a multi-tenant retail building to be constructed. <br /> The EDA approved the next step in the process on October 27, 2008 by <br /> authorizing the removal of the subdivision from the October 2001 Development <br /> Assistance Agreement with MoundsVista, Inc. (the Mermaid). <br /> The Mermaid now has to convince their bondholders to allow the sale of the 1.4 <br /> acres. The developer also hopes to secure tenants prior to purchasing the land. <br /> Item 8F — Harland Clark Closing <br /> On October 16, 2008, Mayor Marty received the attached letter from Harland <br /> Clarke announcing their plans to close their Mounds View facility by January 31, <br /> 2009. <br /> In Spring 2008, Harland Clarke told City staff that they had 308 employees. <br /> Since the attached letter indicates that 125 Mounds View jobs will be relocated; <br /> staff is assuming that job were cut or relocated beginning this past summer. <br /> Harland Clarke currently leases 81,490 square feet in Mounds View.
