RESOLUTION NO. 8520 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISIONS TO THE POLICE CHIEF <br /> JOB DESCRIPTION AND AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE <br /> POSITION OF POLICE CHIEF <br /> WHEREAS, Police Chief Tom Kinney has submitted his notice of retirement; his last <br /> day of employment will be April 29, 2016; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Civil Service Commission and the City Council have <br /> reviewed the essential duties and responsibilities associated with the Police Chief position <br /> and support a revision to incorporate a recent City Council priority on policing and <br /> community engagement; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the 2016 salary range (hourly) for the position is presently as follows: <br /> Step 1 Step 1.5 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 <br /> $44.34 $45.72 $47.11 $49.88 $52.65 $55.42 <br /> WHEREAS, staff requests authorization to advertise the soon-to-be vacated position <br /> online, with the POST board and at the StarTribune. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mounds View City Council <br /> approves the proposed revisions to the Police Chief job description, attached as Exhibit A, <br /> and authorizes the position be advertised online, with the POST Board and in the <br /> StarTribune. <br /> Adopted this 8th day of February, 2016. <br /> •e Flahe T, V ayor <br /> ATTEST:- <br /> _. 8?1`4^('S <br /> - James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (s�a�j <br />
