• Promotes a favorable image of the City and department through services <br />provided. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />Education and Experience <br />High school diploma and additions! vocational school training or <br />equivalent work experience. <br />Five years experience in Parks maintenance. <br />Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise the work of a wide variety of <br />personnel. <br />Valid Class D driver's license and ability to obtain Class B license within <br />one year of hire. <br />Two years municipal government experience. <br />DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS <br />Education and Experience <br />Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Park and Recreation, <br />Public Administration, Business Administration or related field ors <br />combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to a <br />degree. <br />Experience in municipal budget preparation on a department level. <br />Four years supervisory experience. <br />• NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br /> To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform <br /> each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are <br /> representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable <br /> accommodations may be to enable individuals with disabilities to perform <br /> the essential functions. <br />• Considerable knowledge of the materials, methods, techniques, tools and <br /> equipment used in repairing, maintaining and constructing Parks facilities. <br /> Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety <br /> precautions necessary to the safe conduct of work and equipment. <br /> Considerable knowledge of the related trades and of automotive <br /> equipment operation and maintenance. <br /> Knowledge of the appropriate statutes, regulations, codes and ordinances <br /> pertaining to the areas of assignment or the ability to acquire such <br /> knowledge in a relatively short period of time. <br /> • Ability to administer the operational budget and maintain control on <br /> expenditures within agreed upon budgetary controls. <br /> Ability to plan, organize, supervise and coordinate the work of several <br /> work crews engaged in a wide variety of complex maintenance <br /> construction and repair activities. <br /> Ability to make decisions recognizing established polices, rules, <br /> procedures, precedents and practices and to use resourcefulness and tact <br />• in meeting new problems. <br />
