POSITION DESCRIPTION • <br />Position Title: Administrative Assistant <br />Department: Community Development <br />Accountable To: Community Development Director <br />Status: Non-Exempt <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION <br />Performs Building Permit Technician Duties and provides essential support through <br />effective performance of administrative and clerical dies responsibilities and assists <br />Community Development personnel with administrative detail to help ensure efficient <br />and thorough operation of the Community Development Department. Provides contact <br />with customers on matters specifically related to Community Development or other <br />general inquires. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the guidance and direction of the Community Development Director. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />None <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • <br />Performs Permit Technician duties as required by explaining permit <br />procedures to applicant, reviewing application and submitted plans for <br />completeness and accuracy, and answering guest~ons relatmg to building <br />and zonina codes Oversees and maintains the City's permit tracking <br />software s stem and related databases. <br />Processes and issues building, lumbina, mechanical, and zoning permits <br />after required reviews and approvals have been given white assuring that <br />the City and or State Licensing requirements have been met, and performs <br />record keeping and updating of records relating to permit issuance. <br />• Maintains orderly and accurate database files for building, zonin plumbing, <br />mechanical, sewer, water, street opening permits, planning applications, multiple <br />dwelling registrations and licenses, contractor licenses, development <br />agreements, administrative offenses, citations, developer deposits, and other <br />department-related database files as necessary. <br />• Completes various monthly, quarterly and annual reports for City records and for <br />other various local, regional, state and federal agencies. <br />• Composes and/or transcribes neat and accurate correspondence memos, <br />letters, reports and related materials as appropriate or as directed by department <br />personnel according to provided information and deadlines. <br />• <br />
