ES • <br />PERIPHERAL DUTI <br />Informs the Building Official of any inspection related activities which requ[re <br />immediate attention or action. <br />• Attends meetings as assigned or as requested when matters relate to <br />responsibilities assigned. <br />Assumes other responsibilities as apparent or as delegated. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />High school diploma or GED equivalent <br />. BIT Certification or equivalent degree in building code technology <br />Strong verbal and written communication skills <br />Knowledge of building codes and Minnesota amendments <br />Valid MN driver's license <br />Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with architects, <br />contractors and residents <br />• Ability to read and understand complicated plans and blueprints <br />DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS <br />ne ear of revious municipal inspection experience • <br />O y p <br />One or more years of general construction or trades experience <br />Knowledge of the PermitWorks® permit tracking software <br />Working knowledge of plumbing, mechanical and fire codes <br />Knowledge of methods, materials, terminology and practices in general building <br />construction <br />. Knowledge of laws governing zoning and general building construction. <br />TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED <br />Personal computer in a Microsoft office environment; motor vehicle; 10-key calculator; <br />portable radio; phone; ladder or scaffolding; tape measure. <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br />The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an <br />employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
