• Code Enforcement <br />• Administers the City's code enforcement program by investigating <br />complaints of code violations, preparing letters, notices and report, <br />maintaining files, advising property owners of code requirements and <br />enforcement procedures, and obtaining compliance. The code <br />enforcement process may involve court proceedings and the preparation <br />of evidence. <br />• Identifies inconsistencies in code provisions and recommends code <br />revisions. Prepares code revisions as assigned. <br />• Works with residents to heighten awareness of various code ordinances. <br />Property Managers Coalition <br />• Acts as the staff liaison for the Property Managers Coalition, including <br />preparing monthly newsletters and meeting minutes. <br />Fire Fighting <br />• Emergency response as a firefighter including emergency medial calls and <br />fire calls that include the hazards of firefighting. <br />• <br />Fire Inspections <br />• Assists with investigations of all fires in the City to determine cause and <br />origin. Prepares comprehensive reports on fire incidents required by the <br />State or Fire Chief. <br />PERIPHERAL DUTIES <br />Performs research and prepares written and oral reports, and other <br />assignments, as directed. <br />• Establishes and maintains working files. <br />• Informs the Community Development Director of any inspection related <br />activities that require immediate attention or action. <br />• Consults with the City Attorney, as necessary, to review and evaluate <br />appropriate legal remedies to gain compliance with codes and ordinances. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />• Knowledge of practices, principles, and techniques of effective code <br />enforcement/fire prevention principles. <br />• <br />
