Ordinance 927 <br /> August 22, 2016 <br /> Page 4 <br /> b. The Single-Family Home or the Accessory Dwelling Unit shall be occupied by the <br /> property owner. The property shall be homesteaded. <br /> c. An Accessory Dwelling Unit shall have a minimum gross floor area of 300 sq.ft.and a <br /> maximum gross floor area of 800 sq. ft. <br /> d. The exterior design of the Accessory Dwelling Unit shall be consistent with the <br /> character of the single-family home. <br /> e. A minimum of one (1) off-street parking space shall be provided for the Accessory <br /> Dwelling Unit. <br /> f. Accessory Dwelling Units shall be licensed as a rental dwelling, and comply with <br /> Chapter 1012 (Rental Dwelling License). <br /> g. Accessory Dwelling Units shall use the same water and sanitary sewer connections,and <br /> water meter as the single-family home. <br /> h. Accessory Dwelling Units with an exterior entrance different than the single-family <br /> home's shall have a different address (e.g. 2401-A). Addressing shall be compliant <br /> with Chapter 903 (Numbers Required). <br /> i. If the mailbox post is owned and maintained by the City,then the property owner shall <br /> reimburse the City for any alterations or replacement. <br /> j. Property owner is responsible for additional quarterly utility fees upon creation of an <br /> Accessory Dwelling Unit, to include the following: Sewer Service Charge, Surface <br /> Water Management Utility Fee, and Street Lighting Utility Fee. <br /> SECTION 6. In accordance with Section 3.07 of the CityCharter, CityStaff shall have the <br /> following summary printed in the official City newspaper in lieu of the complete ordinance: <br /> On August 22,2016,the City Council adopted Ordinance 927 that amends Chapters <br /> 1102, 1103,and 1106 of the Mounds View City Code relating to Accessory Dwelling <br /> Units as a permitted use within the R-1 Zoning District if internal to the existing home <br /> and as a conditional use if within an addition onto a home. <br /> A printed copy of the ordinance is available for inspection during regular business <br /> hours at Mounds View City Hall and is available online at the City's website located <br /> at www.ci.mounds-view.mn.us. <br />
