<br /> ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
<br /> PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 8696 on January 9, 2017 approving the
<br /> plans and specifications for the Public Works Facility and authorizing advertisement for bids;
<br /> and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the advertisement for bids was published in the January 20, January 27,
<br /> February 3 and February 10, 2017 editions of the Sun Focus; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, on February 21, 2017 twelve sealed bids were received, opened and
<br /> publicly read aloud as follows:

<br /> WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bid of $5,156,000.00 was submitted by Ebert
<br /> Construction of Corcoran, MN; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, there is sufficient funding for Alternate Bid Item 1 — paint vehicle storage
<br /> area walls in the amount of $21,910; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, there is sufficient funding for Alternate Bid Item 2 — provide pre-cast
<br /> concrete silo storage panels for bulk material storage in the amount of$31,949; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Engineer and Oertel Architects recommend awarding a
<br /> construction contract to Ebert Construction for the base bid and alternates 1 and 2 in the
<br /> amount of $5,209,859; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the City has received a quote of $30,916.50 from American Engineering
<br /> Testing, Inc. to provide special inspections as required by the building code during the
<br /> construction of the new building; and,
