Mounds View City Council December 12, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting Page 10 <br /> <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />B. December 5, 2016, Truth In Taxation Minutes. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Mueller. To Approve the December 5, 2016, Truth In <br />Taxation meeting minutes as presented. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />11. REPORTS <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Hull thanked Mayor Joe Flaherty for his dedicated service to the City of <br />Mounds View over the past 12 years. He discussed the improvements that have been made to the <br />City during these years. He presented the Mayor with a card and a round of applause was offered <br />by all in attendance. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked the Council and staff for this recognition. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn stated last Tuesday she attended a function on diversity at Pinewood <br />Elementary School. She explained the function focused on communication. She stated the event <br />was well attended and very well done. She appreciated the fact that the children at this school <br />were working to build relationships and community. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller reported the Edgewood Middle School was planning to hold a similar <br />event. The date for this event has yet to be determined. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller indicated she had the opportunity to attend the North Metro Chamber <br />of Commerce fundraiser for the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf. She commented 80 to 90 individuals <br />attended the event and a great deal of funds were raised for the food shelf. She encouraged the <br />public to consider making a charitable donation to the local food shelf. In addition, she <br />suggested Mounds View residents resolve to volunteer in the New Year. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated there would be a North Metro Business Council meeting on <br />Wednesday, December 14th at the Mermaid. The guest speaker would be the Chair of the Met <br />Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause reported it had been a pleasure serving with Mayor Flaherty over <br />the past four years. He believed Mayor Flaherty had done a great job serving the community. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause wished everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. <br /> <br />B.
