Mounds View City Council April 25, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting Page 12 <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson stated there was some concern within the metro area regarding tiny <br />houses and that cities may have no say. He feared that the legislation as submitted would take <br />away the permitting process for cities. He indicated a tiny house would be an additional living <br />unit that might not have to comply with setbacks. He understood the tiny houses would be <br />allowed for six months, with an additional six-month extension. He commented the tiny houses <br />would require septic trucks to service them. He understood the concept appeared to be great, but <br />there were a large number of issues that needed to be addressed. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty stated there has been individuals lobbying on behalf of cities. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller reported the Ramsey County League of Local Government was <br />sponsoring an ethnic panel discussion called “How Can We Unite” on Thursday, April 28th at the <br />Maplewood City Hall at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated a neighborhood meeting would be held at the Community <br />Center on Wednesday, April 27th at 6:00 p.m. for the residents living in Area I. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause commented County Road H was now open. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause indicated he attended the Pinewood Elementary production of the <br />Wizard of Oz with his wife and was very pleased by the fine work conducted by these students. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated he would be attending an NYFS meeting on Thursday, April <br />28th. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause thanked the Mounds View Lion’s and Boy Scouts for cleaning up <br />County Highway 10 this past Saturday. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty reported detours would occur at the intersection of County Road H and Highway <br />10 in May. He encouraged Mounds View residents to be patient and noted the intersection <br />would better serve the City after completion. <br /> <br />B. Reports of Staff. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer stated the conduit debt request submitted to the City has been dropped. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Erickson reported that the Area I contractor would begin to mobilize on <br />Monday, May 2nd. He discussed the work that had been completed on County Road H. <br /> <br />1. Administration Report <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson reviewed the City Council Work Session agenda for Monday, May <br />2nd. The Council was interested in receiving a presentation from Officer Kirsten Heineman.
