Mounds View City Council May 23, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br /> <br />the signs would be replaced in 2018 at the earliest. Staff recommended the Council introduce <br />Ordinance 918. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty stated this issue has been discussed by the Council for years. He thanked <br />Council Member Meehlhause for his efforts on this matter. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller thanked Council Member Meehlhause and staff for continuing to work <br />on this issue. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Gunn. To Waive the First Reading and Introducing <br />Ordinance 918, an Ordinance Naming that Section of County Road 10 in the City of Mounds <br />View to “Mounds View Boulevard”. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller requested the map be posted on the City’s website so business owners <br />and residents can see what portion of County Road 10 would be renamed. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />J. Resolution 8581, Dissolution of the Street and Utilities Commission. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Erickson requested the Council consider the dissolution of the Street and <br />Utilities Commission. He explained the work of this group has come to an end as Area I of the <br />project was underway. He thanked the members of the Streets and Utilities Commission for their <br />service to the community. Staff then recommended the Council approve a Resolution dissolving <br />the Streets and Utilities Commission. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller asked if the members of the Streets and Utilities Commission would be <br />formally recognized for their service to the City. Public Works Director Erickson reported all <br />current members would be recognized. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller reported the City was seeking volunteers for the Charter Commission <br />in the event any of these individuals would like to continue serving the community. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8581, <br />Dissolution of the Street and Utilities Commission. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause thanked all of the individuals that served on the Street and Utilities <br />Commission over the years. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn also appreciated the members of this Commission and believed they had <br />done the City proud. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked former Mayor Marty for his forethought and for getting this <br />accomplished on behalf of the City. <br />
