Mounds View City Council July 11, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting Page 7 <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause reported the YMCA Advisory Committee held a meeting today. <br />YMCA Staff provided an update and was pleased on the number of rentals and events taking <br />place at the Community Center. He provided further comment on some of the programs and <br />events that would be occurring over the coming months. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller thanked Vanessa Van Alstine for her great work with the City’s cable <br />programming and a recent Festival in the Park promotional video for the August 20, 2016, event. <br /> <br /> B. Reports of Staff. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer stated he met with Marian Rygwall at Spring Lake Park and the Lakeside <br />Park budget was now complete. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Erickson commented work on the Mounds View Boulevard trail project <br />would begin this week. In addition, work on the Silver View Trail would begin in the coming <br />weeks. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Erickson reported Phase II of the Area I project was underway. He <br />discussed how the recent storm had impacted this project. He encouraged the public to contact <br />the project hotline with any questions regarding Area I. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson indicated he would be meeting with Blaine and Spring Lake Park to <br />discuss the Fire Department budget for 2017. He would report back to the Council after this <br />meeting. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson stated he would be attending the Economic Development <br />Commission meeting on Friday, July 15th. The group would be discussing the EDA’s funding <br />plan and a potential EDA levy. He noted Business Development Coordinator Beeman would be <br />making a presentation to the City Council at their next worksession meeting. <br /> <br />Todd Kruse, President of the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce, introduced himself to <br />the City Council. He thanked the Council for their service to the community and encouraged the <br />local business community to collaborate further with the Chamber. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty encouraged Mr. Kruse to attend an upcoming worksession meeting to allow for <br />further discussion between the City Council and Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Kruse stated he <br />would be happy to work this into his schedule. <br /> <br />C. Reports of City Attorney. <br /> <br />There was nothing additional to report. <br /> <br />12.
