Mounds View City Council August 8, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Gunn. To Waive the First Reading and Introduce Ordinance 925, an <br />Ordinance Amending Title 500, Chapter 502 to add Micro Breweries, National Breweries, <br />Regional Breweries, Brewpubs, Distilled Spirits, Microdistilleries and Taprooms Business <br />Licensing to the Liquor Code. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty requested Item J be discussed next. The Council was in agreement with this <br />suggestion. <br /> <br />J. Resolution 8617, Authorizing the Sending of Notice of Termination of Lease <br />to Creative Kids Academy – Mounds View, Inc. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson stated this item was reviewed by the Council at a recent worksession <br />with representatives from the YMCA in attendance. He reported staff received a proposal from <br />the YMCA to provide childcare at the community center. He explained the YMCA was aware <br />the City had a lease with the current tenant (Creative Kids Academy) through July of 2018. He <br />commented there was a clause in the lease agreement that allows for early termination by <br />providing a one-year written notice to the tenant. It was noted staff had reached out to the <br />owners of Creative Kids Academy, however the owner was out of the country. He indicated a <br />conversation was held via phone and through email correspondence with the owner where he <br />requested a decision by the Council be deferred to the August 22 nd City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause supported the matter being postponed to August 22 nd . <br /> <br />Council Member Hull and Council Member Gunn were in agreement. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Hull. To Postpone Action on Resolution 8617, Authorizing <br />the Sending of Notice of Termination of Lease to Creative Kids Academy – Mounds View, Inc., <br />to the Monday, August 22, 2016 City Council Meeting. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />E. Resolution 8615, Authorization to Advertise for the Housing/Code <br />Enforcement Inspector Position. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane reported Craig Swalchick has resigned his position with the <br />City effective August 10 th . She requested the Council authorize the advertisement for the <br />housing/code enforcement inspector position. Staff reviewed the proposed hiring timeline and <br />recommended the Council authorize staff to advertise the position. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8615, <br />Authorization to Advertise for the Housing/Code Enforcement Inspector Position. <br />
