Second Reading and Adoption of Ordinance 886, an Ordinance Amending
Mounds View City Code Chapter 607 Relating to Commercial Vehicle
Parking Regulations.

City Administrator Ericson stated the Council introduced Ordinance 886 at its April 14th
meeting. This item was brought to the Council in January as numerous homeowners in Mounds
View were bringing commercial vehicles home and parking them in their driveways during the
day or overnight. He reported many of these vehicles were over the designated weight limits
(Class E) allowed in City Code.

City Administrator Ericson reported the Council was proposing to expand the commercial
vehicle limits to allow for a Glass G weight limit in residential neighborhoods. It was noted the
Ordinance would be restricting residents to only one commercial vehicle on residential
properties. In addition, the commercial vehicles could have no more than six wheels, and must
be licensed and operable. Staff reviewed the proposed Ordinance in further detail and
recommended the Council adopt Ordinance 886.

Mayor Flaherty asked if anyone in the public wanted to speak on this item.

Cam Obert, 8315 Greenwood Drive, discussed the City of Brooklyn Park’s ban on commercial
vehicles in residential areas.

MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn.
