City <br />Administrator Ericson commented over 20 people applied for the previous posting. For this <br />reason, he believed the City would again receive a number of qualified candidates for the <br />Business Development Coordinator position. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />C. Resolution 8272, Approving the 2014 Festival in the Park Contract. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson reviewed the 2014 Festival in the Park Contract in detail with the <br />Council and recommended approval. It was noted this year’s Festival in the Park would be held <br />on August 16th. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller asked how long Theresa Cermak has been the president of the Festival <br />in the Park. Theresa Cermak, President of the Festival in the Park, explained she has served as <br />the president for the past ten to fifteen years and has been on the committee for the past 21 years. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller thanked Ms. Cermak for her service to the community. She then <br />requested further information on how the Festival Committee funded the event. Ms. Cermak <br />explained the committee had been fundraising and received a grant from Twin Cities Gateway to <br />assist in covering the expenses for the Festival. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller indicated she had a check from the Win Insurance Agency to be used <br />for car show trophies in the amount of $150. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause questioned if additional picnic tables should be planned for the <br />beer garden area. Ms. Cermak commented that this was being investigated. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn noted the City had budgeted $4,500 for Festival in the Park to cover staff <br />time. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty requested further information on this year’s theme for Festival in the Park. Ms. <br />Cermak explained the Festival would be Elvis themed as this year’s event fell on the anniversary <br />of his death. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Ms. Cermak for her dedication to the Festival, along with everyone <br />serving on the Festival in the Park Committee. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8272, <br />Approving the 2014 Festival in the Park Contract. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried.
