To Approve the Just and Correct Claims as <br />presented. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />10. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />11. REPORTS <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller announced Saturday, August 16th was Festival in the Park. She <br />reviewed the schedule of events planned for the day and invited all to attend this family friendly <br />event. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause explained he would be attending a Northeast Youth and Family <br />Services staff and board member picnic on Friday, August 22nd. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn provided comment on the events she attended for National Night Out. <br />She explained she discussed potential volunteer opportunities with members attending the <br />events. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty believed that National Night Out was a huge success noting he attended seven <br />events with the Chief of Police. He stated a resident asked him if the Council would consider a <br />skate park. The Council agreed to discuss this further at a future worksession meeting. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn requested the Council consider adding a splash pad to Mounds View as <br />well. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty was in favor of updating the City’s website. He requested staff to investigate the <br />expense of completing the trail segment near the library. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty commented he attended a meeting of the North Suburban Cable Commission <br />with City Administrator Ericson. He explained the joint powers agreement was discussed, along <br />with City representation. The group decided to allow cities to select their representative and not <br />require that the Mayor or Council Member attend. He reported that the Cable Commission was <br />considering its upcoming budget with the understanding that PEG fees were going to be reduced. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller thanked the community and Police Department for their show of <br />support after the tragic passing of Officer Patrick. <br /> <br /> B.
