To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8480, <br />Authorizing the Morris Leatherman Company to Conduct a Telephone Survey of 400 Randomly <br />Selected Mounds View Residents Relating to Organized Collection and Approving Survey <br />Instrument. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty supported the survey being conducted. He was looking forward to reviewing the <br />results once the survey was complete and believed the data would greatly benefit the City <br />Council. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />F. Resolution 8481, Authorizing the Purchase of a V-Panel Aluminum <br />Shoring/Trench Box. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Erickson requested the Council authorize the purchase of V-panel <br />aluminum shorting/trench box. He reported this item was within the 2015 budget. He discussed <br />how the trench box would be used by the City to assist with fixing water main breaks. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked if this piece of equipment was an OSHA requirement. <br />Public Works Director Erickson stated that this was the case unless the public works staff were to <br />open up holes so wide as to not have it collapse. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. Resolution 8483, Approving Non-Standard Street Design and Parking <br />Restrictions for Area I of the Street and Utility Improvement Program. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Erickson reviewed the proposed non-standard street design and parking <br />restrictions for Area I of the Street and Utility Improvement Program. He discussed the <br />definition of non-standard street criteria in detail with the Council. Staff provided an overview <br />of the six sections of non-standard street and reported the Streets and Utility Committee <br />recommended approval of the plan as presented. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller asked if the 5.5-foot wide aisle along Jackson Drive would be a <br />designated bike lane. Public Works Director Erickson stated this area would be marked “No <br />Parking” and could be used for bicycles but would not be a designated bike lane. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller questioned how the infiltration basins would be impacted on Jackson
