Police Chief Kinney reported he had budgeted another $10,000 for 2016, which would <br />upgrade two more cameras. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty recommended that all new squads be fitted with the new camera systems. Police <br />Chief Kinney supported this purchasing schedule. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty questioned the size of the memory cards within the current camera systems. <br />Police Chief Kinney was uncertain of this but would report back to the Council with this <br />information. He explained that he would be working closely with the City of Roseville on the <br />data practices that will be followed for the new systems. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8490, <br />Approving to Purchase Two In-Car Video Camera Recording Systems. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller supported upgrading the Police Department’s in-car cameras as new <br />squads are purchased. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />F. Resolution 8484, Approving Water Tower Lease Agreement with T-Mobile. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Erickson requested the Council approve a water tower lease agreement <br />with T-Mobile. He reviewed the updated lease in detail and noted the original lease was drafted <br />in 1996. He discussed the current lease rate noting this would be $28,000 with an inflation factor <br />of 4% each year. He noted that T-Mobile has been asked to move their facilities outside of the <br />water tower structure. This would be completed over the next 18 months. Staff recommended <br />approval of the agreement with T-Mobile. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty asked how the Council could determine if the proposed rental rate was fair. <br />Public Works Director Erickson indicated market research was conducted. Finance Director <br />Beer explained he made several calls to neighboring Finance Directors to learn the going rates for <br />water tower leases and stated Kennedy & Graven also assisted with the rental rate negotiations. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty was pleased that T-Mobile would be moving their equipment outside of the water <br />tower structure. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn.
