Mounds View City Council December 28, 2015 Regular Meeting Page 3 None. 10. APPROVAL OF MINUTES None. 11. REPORTS A. Reports of Mayor and Council. Council Member Mueller noted the Experienced Officials Conference sponsored by the League of Minnesota Cities would be held on January 22-23, 2016, at the Earl Brown Center. The keynote speaker would be Peter Kageyama. She reported she would not be able to attend the conference but encouraged the Council to partake in this event. Council Member Gunn reported she would be attending the conference. Council Member Gunn thanked the residents for lighting up their homes with festive lights. Mayor Flaherty agreed and thought the City should have a Lights of Mounds View contest. Council Member Gunn supported this idea and recommended the City also put up lights. Council Member Mueller reminded the public that the City was always looking for volunteers. Those interested in serving were encouraged to contact City Hall for further information. Mayor Flaherty wished everyone a safe and Happy New Year. He looked forward to a great year in 2016. Council Member Meehlhause provided the Council with an update on the renaming of County Highway 10. He explained he attended an EDC meeting this year and learned of the difficulties of businesses getting their mail delivered along the County Highway 10 corridor. He indicated he sent an email to Commissioner Huffman regarding these concerns and a meeting with Jim Tolaas with the County was recommended. He stated he voiced his concerns to Beth Engum as well. He stated as it sits now, a meeting was being set up with Commissioner McGuire, Commissioner Huffman, Jim Tolaas, City Administrator Ericson and himself. It was his hope that the roadway could be renamed in conjunction with the reconstruction of County Road I. Mayor Flaherty thanked Council Member Meehlhause for his efforts. B. Reports of Staff.
