Mounds View City Council May 11, 2015 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty read a Resolution of Appreciation in full for the record thanking Cindy Carvelli- <br />Yu for her dedicated service to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause thanked Cindy Carvelli-Yu for her outstanding service to the City. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8409, <br />A Resolution of Appreciation for Cindy Carvelli-Yu for Serving on the Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />A. Public Hearings – On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor Licenses: <br />1. Resolution 8406, to Consider an On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License for <br />Moe’s located at 2400 County Road 10. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated in accordance with City Code, a public hearing was <br />required when considering the renewal of an on-sale intoxicating liquor license. She explained <br />that Moe’s was requesting a liquor license renewal and has submitted all necessary paperwork <br />and fees. She reported that staff has conducted the required inspections and was waiting on the <br />background investigation. She noted that all property taxes were paid in full, but indicated <br />Moe’s had an outstanding utility bill. Staff recommended the Council hold a public hearing and <br />approve the on-sale intoxicating liquor license for Moe’s, contingent upon payment of the <br />delinquent utility bill, a satisfactory fire inspection and criminal background investigation. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:13 p.m. <br /> <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Flaherty closed the public hearing at 7:13 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. Resolution 8407, to Consider an On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License for <br />The Mermaid located at 2200 County Road 10. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated in accordance with City Code, a public hearing was <br />required when considering the renewal of an on-sale intoxicating liquor license. She explained <br />that The Mermaid was requesting a liquor license renewal and has submitted all necessary <br />paperwork and fees. She reported that staff has conducted the required inspections and was <br />waiting on the background investigation. She noted that all property taxes and utility bills were <br />paid in full. Staff recommended the Council hold a public hearing and approve the on-sale <br />intoxicating liquor license for The Mermaid, contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background
