Resolution to Consider an Off-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License Renewal <br />for ABC Liquor, located at 2840 Mounds View Boulevard (this item will <br />be continued to the next City Council Meeting) <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated all liquor license renewals require approval by Public <br />Hearing. She explained ABC Liquor has an off-sale liquor license with the City that will expire <br />on June 30, 2017. She reported all liquor license materials were due to the City on Monday, May <br />15th. Staff did not receive any information from ABC Liquor and advised the Council this <br />establishment was under new ownership. She was confident ABC Liquor would have their <br />paperwork into the City by June 12th. For these reasons, staff recommended the Public Hearing <br />be opened and continued to the Monday, June 12, 2017 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller opened the public hearing at 7:43 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Continue the Public Hearing on ABC Liquor’s <br />Off-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License to the June 12, 2017 City Council Meeting at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. Resolution 8761, a Resolution to Consider an Off-Sale Intoxicating <br />Liquor License Renewal for Merwin Liquors, located at 2577 Mounds <br />View Boulevard. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane reported Merwin Liquors has met all requirements under City <br />Code for their Off-Sale Intoxicating Liquor license, except their compliance check. She stated <br />unfortunately, Merwin Liquors had an employee that sold to a minor. This employee was <br />terminated immediately and all other employees had received additional training. Staff <br />recommended the Council hold a Public Hearing and approve an Off-Sale liquor license for <br />Merwin Liquors. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause questioned when the violation occurred. Assistant City <br />Administrator Crane reported the violation occurred during a Mounds View Police Department <br />sponsored compliance check. She commented further on the City’s liquor license revocation or <br />suspension process. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller opened the public hearing at 7:49 p.m. <br />
