Mounds View City Council May 22, 2017 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br />F. 7:00 p.m. Public Hearings: On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License Renewals <br />1. Resolution to Consider an On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License Renewal <br />for Moe’s located at 2400 Mounds View Boulevard (this item will be <br />continued to the next City Council Meeting) <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated all liquor license renewals require approval by Public <br />Hearing. She explained Moe’s has an on-sale liquor license with the City that will expire on <br />June 30, 2017. She reported all liquor license materials were due to the City on Monday, May <br />15th. Staff did not receive any information from Moe’s. She noted for the record that the <br />property owner had outstanding property taxes. For these reasons, staff recommended the Public <br />Hearing be opened and continued to the Monday, June 12, 2017, City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer explained the property owner had paid his outstanding delinquent utility <br />bill and noted he would have one other bill to pay prior to the June 12th meeting. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause clarified that the liquor license holder would have to work with the <br />property owner in order to get the property taxes paid prior to the June 12th meeting. Assistant <br />City Administrator Crane reported this was the case. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller opened the public hearing at 7:37 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Bergeron. To Continue the Public Hearing for Moe’s On- <br />Sale Intoxicating Liquor License to the June 12, 2017 City Council Meeting at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Member Bergeron questioned the City’s next step in this process if the information were <br />not provided to the City in a timely manner before June 12th. Assistant City Administrator Crane <br />reported the matter would have to be continued to June 26th, which may mean Moe’s liquor <br />license will lapse. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. Resolution 8760, a Resolution to Consider an On-Sale Intoxicating <br />Liquor License Renewal for The Mermaid, located at 2200 Mounds View <br />Boulevard. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane reported The Mermaid has met all requirements under City <br />Code for their On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor license. Staff recommended the Council hold a <br />Public Hearing and approve an On-Sale liquor license for The Mermaid. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller opened the public hearing at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Mueller closed the public hearing at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause.
