Mounds View City Council July 10, 2017 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked what guidelines were used by staff to select certain funds for <br />special projects. Finance Director Beer explained the Special Project Fund was set aside <br />specifically to cover the Public Works Building expenses. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller questioned how the oil in the soil would be mitigated. Public Works Director <br />Erickson reported the contaminated soil has been excavated and was properly covered, awaiting <br />removal from the site. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller inquired if additional dollars would be needed to remediate the soil. Public <br />Works Director Erickson stated the potential was there, however, it was his hope no additional <br />soil would need to be disturbed. <br /> <br />Council Member Bergeron asked if the underground tanks were in use up until the point the <br />Public Works Facility was demolished. Public Works Director Erickson stated the bulk hoist <br />tank was in use and noted the used oil tank was not in use. <br /> <br />Council Member Bergeron questioned if the City would have any new underground tanks on this <br />site. Public Works Director Erickson reported there would be no new underground tanks and <br />noted the fuel island would have above ground tanks. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Bergeron. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution <br />8792, Approving Wenck Associates to Perform Limited Site Investigation at the Public Works <br />Facility Site. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause reported the City approved a Conditional Use Permit for the above <br />ground tanks. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />H. Resolution 8784, Approving Quote from Bituminous Roadways, Inc., for <br />Various Street Repairs. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Erickson requested the Council approve a quote from Bituminous <br />Roadways for various street repairs. He indicated the City had two watermain breaks and a storm <br />sewer issue that required necessary street repairs. He reviewed the location and details for the <br />watermain and sewer work further with the Council and recommended approval of the street <br />repairs. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller asked if the street repair projects were ready to be completed. Public Works <br />Director Erickson stated this was the case and noted the goal was to have the street repairs <br />completed in the next two weeks. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Bergeron. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8784, <br />Approving Quote from Bituminous Roadways, Inc., for Various Street Repairs. <br />
