Consideration of Resolution No. 95-EDC6 Approving the Highway 10 Vision Statement
Coordinator Bennett explained that the Highway 10 Subcommittee is submitting a Vision
Statement for highway 10 for the EDC's consideration. The Vision Statement concept followed
the last drafted plan which divided the City into three nodes - Eastgate, City Center, Westgate.
Although the EDC agreed that each section of the City has a different purpose with clearly
different issues, they felt that the corridor should be review in total and viewed as one main
thoroughfare that serves the City resident, business and commuter needs. The Commission
slightly revised the proposed Vision Statement and outlined new action steps for the Highway
10 Subcommittee.
Coordinator Bennett commented that the Vision Statement will be reviewed at the Council/Staff
Strategic Planning and asked for volunteers to present the vision statement to the EDA at the
February 6, 1995 work session. Commissioner Schmidt volunteered.
Motion/Second: Nelson/Malone move to accept revised Highway 10 Vision Statement.
Motion Carried
6 ayes 0 nays
RA
