Adopt 2010 Economic Development Priorities <br /> Economic Development Specialist Heidi Steinmetz stated that four out of seven EDC <br /> members drafted the EDC's 2010 priorities on January 15th and since more members are <br /> here today, the EDC could choose to adopt the priorities today. <br /> 1) Development/redevelopment along County Hwy/Rd10 corridor <br /> a. Potential name change for County Hwy/Rd 10 <br /> b. Premium Stop Redevelopment Area <br /> c. Silver View Plaza <br /> d. Complete remaining trailway connections to businesses <br /> e. PAK building <br /> f Knollwood Place & Johnson property <br /> g. Improve the aesthetics of properties in the County Hwy/Rd 10 corridor <br /> h. Saturn dealership <br /> 2) Continue budgeting to Implement the Mounds View Branding Project <br /> 3) Monitor Mounds View properties in transition <br /> 4) Skyline Motel redevelopment <br /> 5) Monitor and assist with City-wide housing issues and projects <br /> 6) Support the implementation of the Citywide Street & Utility Improvement Program <br /> Motion/Second: Commissioner Belting moved and Commissioner Larson seconded the <br /> adoption of the 2010 Economic Development priorities. <br /> Motion Carried: 6 Ayes 0 Nays <br /> 7. REPORTS OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> Chair Meehlhause reported that Irondale Girls Hockey is playing tonight against Centennial <br /> at the Coloseum at 7:30pm. He added that whoever wins goes to the State tournament and <br /> that Irondale is the number one seed in the section. <br /> Commissioner Helgemoe announced that the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce is <br /> holding its annual fundraising Gala tonight on Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Earle Brown <br /> Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center. <br /> 8. REPORTS OF STAFF <br /> A. Saturn of Mounds View Awarded MotorTrend Certified Status <br /> Ms. Steinmetz reported that the City Council approved an amendment to Saturn's <br /> Conditional Use Permit, which will allow the property owners the flexibility of not having to <br /> sell new cards on the lot. She added that the property owners will remain the same but the <br /> dealership would operate under the MotorTrend name. The owners also said that the <br /> existing employees will remain. <br />
