Snyders Closed — Property for Sale or Lease <br /> Ms. Steinmetz reported that this property is listed on the www.mncar.org Website and that <br /> the real estate broker's (Cushman &Wakefield) contact information is included in the next <br /> Mounds View Matters. <br /> C. A-1 Foam & Upholstery Now Open <br /> Ms. Steinmetz mentioned that A-1 moved to Mounds View Square from the City of <br /> Lexington. She added that Mounds View Square is now fully occupied. <br /> D. ICS Consulting, Inc. Now Open <br /> Ms. Steinmetz told the EDC that ICS moved from lease space in Spring Lake Park to <br /> Mounds View City Center Suites (across the street from City Hall). She added that three of <br /> the four condos in Mounds View City Center Suites are now sold. <br /> E. Recap of February 12, 2010 City Council/Staff Retreat <br /> Community Development Director Ken Roberts summarized the Council's 2010 goals as <br /> listed below: <br /> 1. Address Immediate Budget Constraints and Achieve Budget Sustainability <br /> 2. Enhance City Revenue Streams <br /> 3. Focus on County Highway 10 Development and Redevelopment <br /> 4. Continue implementing the Street and Utility Improvement Program <br /> 5. Continue Emphasis on Code Enforcement throughout the City <br /> 6. Ensure Long-Term Municipal 1-net Backbone Connectivity <br /> 7. Continue Focus on Issues Relating to Home Foreclosures and Vacancies <br /> 8. Assess and Improve Community Center Operations <br /> 9. Continue to Encourage Public Participation and Improve Communications <br /> Commissioner Belting left the meeting at this time (8:34am). <br /> F. 12th Annual North Metro Home & Garden Show <br /> Ms. Steinmetz referenced the flyer that she distributed before the meeting about the Home <br /> & Garden Show on Saturday, February 29th from 9am to 2pm at the Schwan Center in <br /> Blaine. The show is sponsored by the Cities of Mounds View, Fridley and Blaine and the <br /> purpose is to encourage home improvement. She added that admission to the show is free <br /> along with the seminars. More information about the show is available on Mounds View's <br /> Website. <br /> Other— Minnesota Metro North Tourism Update <br /> Ken Roberts asked Ms. Steinmetz to talk about the new Convention & Tourism Bureau, <br /> Minnesota Metro North Tourism. She explained that Mounds Viewjoined the new bureau <br /> after leaving Visit Minneapolis North last year. She added that other member cities of the <br /> new bureau are Ham Lake, Lino Lakes, New Brighton, Blaine, Coon Rapids, Fridley and <br /> Shoreview and the purpose of the bureau is to provide tourism marketing for the region. <br /> She said that the job posting for the bureau's first staff person is now listed on the League of <br /> Minnesota Cities' Website. There already is a very large Board of Directors consisting of <br /> representatives from member cities and the hospitality industry. Mounds View's <br /> representative is Ms. Steinmetz and she is one of the Board officers. The bureau is funded <br /> by a 3% lodging tax paid by each cities' hotels. The bureau is one of Mounds View's main <br /> source of funds to market the City. <br />
