Snyders Closed — Property for Sale or Lease Ms. Steinmetz reported that this property is listed on the www.mncar.org Website and that the real estate broker's (Cushman &Wakefield) contact information is included in the next Mounds View Matters. C. A-1 Foam & Upholstery Now Open Ms. Steinmetz mentioned that A-1 moved to Mounds View Square from the City of Lexington. She added that Mounds View Square is now fully occupied. D. ICS Consulting, Inc. Now Open Ms. Steinmetz told the EDC that ICS moved from lease space in Spring Lake Park to Mounds View City Center Suites (across the street from City Hall). She added that three of the four condos in Mounds View City Center Suites are now sold. E. Recap of February 12, 2010 City Council/Staff Retreat Community Development Director Ken Roberts summarized the Council's 2010 goals as listed below: 1. Address Immediate Budget Constraints and Achieve Budget Sustainability 2. Enhance City Revenue Streams 3. Focus on County Highway 10 Development and Redevelopment 4. Continue implementing the Street and Utility Improvement Program 5. Continue Emphasis on Code Enforcement throughout the City 6. Ensure Long-Term Municipal 1-net Backbone Connectivity 7. Continue Focus on Issues Relating to Home Foreclosures and Vacancies 8. Assess and Improve Community Center Operations 9. Continue to Encourage Public Participation and Improve Communications Commissioner Belting left the meeting at this time (8:34am). F. 12th Annual North Metro Home & Garden Show Ms. Steinmetz referenced the flyer that she distributed before the meeting about the Home & Garden Show on Saturday, February 29th from 9am to 2pm at the Schwan Center in Blaine. The show is sponsored by the Cities of Mounds View, Fridley and Blaine and the purpose is to encourage home improvement. She added that admission to the show is free along with the seminars. More information about the show is available on Mounds View's Website. Other— Minnesota Metro North Tourism Update Ken Roberts asked Ms. Steinmetz to talk about the new Convention & Tourism Bureau, Minnesota Metro North Tourism. She explained that Mounds Viewjoined the new bureau after leaving Visit Minneapolis North last year. She added that other member cities of the new bureau are Ham Lake, Lino Lakes, New Brighton, Blaine, Coon Rapids, Fridley and Shoreview and the purpose of the bureau is to provide tourism marketing for the region. She said that the job posting for the bureau's first staff person is now listed on the League of Minnesota Cities' Website. There already is a very large Board of Directors consisting of representatives from member cities and the hospitality industry. Mounds View's representative is Ms. Steinmetz and she is one of the Board officers. The bureau is funded by a 3% lodging tax paid by each cities' hotels. The bureau is one of Mounds View's main source of funds to market the City.
