Mounds View City Council October 23, 2017 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated it was with great pleasure he supported the hiring of Don <br />Peterson as the City’s Public Works Director. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />B. Resolution 8850, Approving the Feasibility Study for Business Park North <br />Street Reconstruction and Set a Public Hearing for said Improvements. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Peterson requested the Council approve the feasibility study for Business <br />Park North Street Reconstruction and to set a Public Hearing for these improvements. After <br />looking at the project further he recommended the entire Business Park be completed in 2018 and <br />not just Program Avenue. He stated in September the Council approved additional pavement <br />corings for this improvement project. Staff provided further comment on the proposed <br />improvements and recommended approval of the feasibility study. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked if any of these streets were State Aid Streets. Public Works <br />Director Peterson reported Quincy was a State Aid Street but the City would not be seeking any <br />dollars from the State for this portion of the street. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller questioned if the City had a sealcoat program that was timelier than 23 years. <br />Public Works Director Peterson reported the City was following a seven-year sealcoating plan. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller asked what the assessments would be for this improvement project. Finance <br />Director Beer explained the assessments would be similar to the Mustang Drive and Mustang <br />Circle improvement project, which would be 12 ½% of the project and engineering costs. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8850, <br />Approving the Feasibility Study for Business Park North Street Reconstruction and Set a Public <br />Hearing for said Improvements. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />C. Resolution 8851, Approving the Purchase of a Mobile Column Hoist for the <br />Public Works Facility. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Peterson requested the Council approve the purchase of a mobile column <br />hoist for the Public Works Facility. He stated the City’s mechanic knew how to use this piece of <br />equipment. He commented further on the expense for the hoist and recommended approval. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller asked what type of maintenance would require the hoist. Public Works Director <br />Peterson reported the DMT checks require use of the hoist. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8851, <br />Approving the Purchase of a Mobile Column Hoist for the Public Works Facility. <br />
