RESOLUTION NO. 8071 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION APPOINTING BRETT BRISBOIS TO A VACANT MAINTENANCE WORKER (STORMWATER) POSITION IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, Nick Fleischhacker resigned from the Mounds View Public Works Department as Stormwater Maintenance Worker effective February 20, 2013; and WHEREAS, on February 25, 2013, the City Council authorized Staff to start the process of filling the position vacated by Mr. Fleischhacker; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Collective Bargaining Agreement requires that job vacancies shall be filled based on the concept of "promotion from within" provided that applicants have the necessary qualifications to meet the standards of the job vacancy and the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job vacancy; and WHEREAS, said vacancywas published internally and a letter of interestwas submitted by Brett Brisbois, who is currently working as a maintenance worker in the drinking water subdivision of Public Works for more than six years; and WHEREAS, both the Public Works Director and the Public Works Supervisor have reviewed Mr. Brisbois' qualifications and recommend appointing him to the vacant Maintenance Worker (Stormwater) position effective March 12, 2013; and WHEREAS, Brett Brisbois is currently at the top of his pay scale for this position; therefore, no compensation adjustments are necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council hereby appoints Brett Brisbois to the vacant Maintenance Worker (Stormwater) position in the Public Works Department effective March 12, 2013. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there will be no compensation adjustments as Brett Brisbois is currently at the top pay scale for a Public Works Maintenance Worker in accordance with the current labor agreement on file.
