RESOLUTION NO. 8071 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION APPOINTING BRETT BRISBOIS TO A VACANT MAINTENANCE <br />WORKER (STORMWATER) POSITION IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, Nick Fleischhacker resigned from the Mounds View Public Works <br />Department as Stormwater Maintenance Worker effective February 20, 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, on February 25, 2013, the City Council authorized Staff to start the process <br />of filling the position vacated by Mr. Fleischhacker; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Collective Bargaining Agreement requires that job <br />vacancies shall be filled based on the concept of "promotion from within" provided that <br />applicants have the necessary qualifications to meet the standards of the job vacancy and the <br />ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job vacancy; and <br />WHEREAS, said vacancywas published internally and a letter of interestwas submitted <br />by Brett Brisbois, who is currently working as a maintenance worker in the drinking water <br />subdivision of Public Works for more than six years; and <br />WHEREAS, both the Public Works Director and the Public Works Supervisor have <br />reviewed Mr. Brisbois' qualifications and recommend appointing him to the vacant Maintenance <br />Worker (Stormwater) position effective March 12, 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, Brett Brisbois is currently at the top of his pay scale for this position; <br />therefore, no compensation adjustments are necessary. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council hereby <br />appoints Brett Brisbois to the vacant Maintenance Worker (Stormwater) position in the Public <br />Works Department effective March 12, 2013. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there will be no compensation <br />adjustments as Brett Brisbois is currently at the top pay scale for a Public Works Maintenance <br />Worker in accordance with the current labor agreement on file. <br />Adopted this 11th day of March, 2013. <br />Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br />James Ericson, City Administrator <br />(seal) <br />
