*****PROPOSED***** <br />• Install, inspect, test, and repair water meters and wireless transmitter readers. Obtain quarterly <br />water consumption readings and download data for use in billing consumers. <br />• Troubleshoot, correct, and repair water distribution system infrastructure, equipment, and tools to <br />ensure proper function and long-lasting performance. <br />• Participate in Best Management Practices (BMPs) related to the City's Wellhead Protection <br />Program (WHPP). <br />• Participate in inspecting and documenting repairs, installation, and modifications to public and <br />private water, sanitary sewer, or storm sewer utility work. <br />• Perform and participate in other maintenance activities including snow plowing and ice control, <br />storm debris clean up, building and grounds maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance, <br />water main breaks, etc. Operate a variety of vehicles, heavy and light equipment, power and hand <br />tools, and perform manual labor while participating in O&M activities. <br />• Document and record inspections, maintenance, repairs, installations, and other work activities in <br />accordance with records retention schedules and program requirements. <br />• Participate in the Public Works "Standby Duty" and "Call Back" programs for after-hours and <br />weekend maintenance, repairs, and emergencies. <br />OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />• Perform the duties and assumes responsibilities of the Lead Utility Worker in his/her absence. <br />• Respond to citizen requests and complaints in a manner that promotes a favorable City image. <br />• Attend and participate in internal and external safety and certification training. <br />• Assist with responding to citizen requests and complaints, including investigating various matters. <br />• Perform other duties and responsibilities as apparent or assigned by the Public Works Supervisor. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />Education: <br />• High School diploma or GED. <br />• Satisfactorily completion of a post -secondary program of courses in water or wastewater <br />technology at an accredited institution is desirable. <br />Experience: <br />• Six months experience in general, skilled, or semi -skilled labor performing maintenance, repair, <br />construction, or other similar job-related tasks on municipal infrastructure or operating motorized <br />equipment for these activities. One year or more experience is desirable. <br />Licenses and Certificates: <br />• Possession of a valid Minnesota Class B commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement, <br />and obtain tanker endorsement within 6 months of employment. <br />• Possession of a current Water Supply System Operator Class C certificate issued by Minnesota <br />Department of Health.
