Ensure organization is prepared for future growth, changing demographics and <br />providing for additional service demands. <br />STRATEGY #1: <br />Plan for addition of facilities, staff and equipment to meet future service needs. <br />Action Steps: <br />1. Work with SBMFD staff and Blaine City Staff to determine optimum location(s) for a new <br />Fire Station to be constructed in NE Blaine. <br />Time: 12 months <br />2. Purchase/set aside property for new NE Fire Station; determine staffing requirements and <br />apparatus configuration. <br />Time: 24 months <br />3. Provide funding to add three, full-time response positions to replace expiring SAFER grant <br />positions. <br />Time: 36 months <br />4. Secure funding, design phase new NE Fire Station. <br />Time: 60 months <br />5. Begin construction new NE Fire Station and purchase needed apparatus/equipment. <br />Time: 72 months <br />STRATEGY #2: <br />Employ multiple measures of service effectiveness throughout the Fire District, <br />ensuring internal and external stakeholders receive the most effective and efficient <br />service possible. <br />Action Steps: <br />1. Improve ISO rating for the City of Blaine and maintain ISO rating in the Cities of Spring <br />Lake Park and Mounds View; achieve an ISO rating of 3 for the entire Fire District. <br />• Time: 8 months <br />2. Complete Standards of Response Coverage (SDRC) and Department Accreditation through <br />the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE). <br />• Time: 24 months <br />3. Comply with all provisions of NFPA 1720. <br />• Time: 24 months <br />STRATEGY #3: <br />Explore/study/implement addition of new services, benefitting internal and <br />external stakeholders, leveraging existing personnel and resources. <br />Action Steps: <br />1.
